Member Walk and Talk: Birding with Rick Grove Along the Bayside Trail
Join top San Diego birder Rick Grove for a Member Walk and Talk along the Bayside Trail at Cabrillo National Monument. This guided outing will be an in-depth ornithological exploration, timed with Cabrillo’s spring migratory season, which runs from March through May. As birds move along the Pacific Flyway, Cabrillo’s coastal location makes it an ideal place to observe a variety of both resident and migratory species.
Grove retired from a career in education where he most recently served as the Assistant Superintendent of Personnel Services for the Carlsbad Unified School District. He is listed as one of three top birders in San Diego and brings an array of experience to the birding community that includes degrees in biology and educational leadership. He is the President of the San Diego Field Ornithologists, sits on the Board of Directors of Buena Vista Audubon and is their Birding Chair and is one of the San Diego Bird Festival’s featured leaders/guides. In addition, he can be found leading monthly bird walks at Agua Hedionda Lagoon and the San Diego Botanical Garden.
