Adopt a Cabrillo Critter
And support the habitats they call home
Celebrate spring at Cabrillo National Monument by symbolically adopting a native bee, octopus, or hummingbird. Each adoption includes a plush, email updates about your chosen species, and an invitation to Bagels on the Bay at Cabrillo National Monument in early June.
Adoptable Species
San Diego County is home to over 700 species of native bees, making it one of the most bee-diverse regions in the country!
At Cabrillo, you might see bumble bees, sweat bees, chimney bees, mining bees, and more!
One of the most commonly spotted hummingbirds at Cabrillo is the Anna’s Hummingbird. These small, iridescent green birds are year-round residents at Cabrillo.
You may catch them zipping through the Coastal Sage Scrub along the Oceanside Trail.
One of the most fascinating animals found at Cabrillo is the octopus. These intelligent, soft-bodied creatures live in the rocky intertidal zone, where they tuck themselves into crevices and tidepool shelters.
With a little patience, you may spot one moving through the shallows at low tide.
Cabrillo Critters are only available for adoption until May 15!
Your Adoption Protects Cabrillo
When you adopt a Cabrillo Critter, you support the programs that protect their habitats: the greenhouse that grows native plants for habitat restoration, education that inspires stewardship, and TPERP (Tidepool Education, Protection, and Restoration Program), which ensures intertidal species and their homes are kept safe.
A gift of any amount helps us protect our park and the species that call it home. Donate by May 15, and make a difference at Cabrillo National Monument this Spring.
